If I’m overweight, will I be Diabetic?

Can my weight make me a Diabetic?

I am 97 Kgs and towards the obese side. I know that my weight causes many problems for me but I am not a Diabetic. Will my weight make me a diabetic?

Dear Sir,

Simply put:

The explosion of diabetes and pre-diabetes has been in large part caused by the explosion in overweight and obesity. Weight gain leads to impaired insulin sensitivity and greater likelihood that excess visceral fat accumulates around your organs making them inefficient, the fundamental condition required to create diabetes (refer to picture below). Thus, Obesity can be labeled as a pre-diabetic condition in itself because your body is now resisting insulin.

We trust that this information helps and we recommend that you get your HbA1 C test done asap if you haven’t already.

Hi,

I used to be overweight too and acquired diabetes at the early age of 25. My health was horrible. I took it on me to lose weight and I did. After that my HbA1 C fixed itself and I am no more a diabetic. I am 36 now and I am very health conscious. I read a lot and have discovered that Obesity is bad, it will cause so many problems.

Read a few books and decide for yourself what will work on your body best. 
Avoiding carbs and sugar completely is a no brainer.

You will still need to work out a diet plan to lose good amount of weight. Try drinking ginger and lemon water first thing in the morning when you wake up. It really helps.
