Couple of years ago a line that I read in one of the leading hospitals in Mumbai was ” Butter is poison for diabetics”

If I am not mistaken Butter has no or negligible amount of  carbs in it. So is it only due to the high fat content that the line said it’s poison for diabetics ?

Hi Zaid. Fats like butter and ghee have been bad mouthed so much in the past decade.
New studies are coming out that prove that all these fats (except trans fat) is the best source of energy for our body and infact aid lots of our body’s functioning like absorbing vitamins.

And you are very right, best part is butter has no carbs and we all know how well that works for diabetics! 😀

I actually follow a high fat, low carb diet and started quite recently. It’s been having great impact on my way of life…even the ADA has changed its stand on fats and said that we should eat them.
