Interestingly enough, this is something that worries me too. I feel keeping a pump in hand bag during the check is not a viable option. I understand the ignorance of airport authorities and otherwise for insulin pump for they dont know, and the ordeal can be long waiting and explaining hours about what it is and why. No matter what the scenario, pump may not survive the X-ray, CT scan and MRI scan. So i dont think so full body scan in Frankfurt would’ve been an issue. They are aware about pumps. Yet, its a matter of ignorance and security. Carrying doctor certificates and medtronic certificates should be fine, albeit with a mental preparedness about long ordeals.
